Mass Effect was released in 2006 for Xbox 360, and later “converted” it with extra features to the PC. Now Bioware, the developers of Mass Effect, are releasing the first downloadable content (DLC) for Mass Effect, titled “Bring Down the Sky.” This expansion will bring features like:
- Introduces a new race: The vile batarians
- A new achievement to unlock on the 360
- A new uncharted world
You can purchase the expansion on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 400 points, or download it on PC for free. You can learn more about the expansion pack, or just hurry up and download it for PC. Here are some screenshots for you to enjoy:

I’m sure anyone who has used Firefox 2 remembers Fasterfox, an addon that increased your connection speed to servers on the net. However, the addon creator still has not updated the addon to work with Firefox 3. Someone designed a modified version of Fasterfox to work with Firefox 3 however, so Fasterfox is back for the masses. If you are worried there is a virus in the addon, you can view the virus scan results. The addon is completely unchanged other than being compatible with the greatest version of Firefox yet, and here is a download link for it:
Update: I modified the file to work with version 3.6.* of Firefox.
To install the addon, just drap the xpi file (the only file) onto any part of the Firefox window, then you will see the normal addon installation steps.

Have you ever wanted to find that one site or another, only to realize that the link is stored on your other computer? Foxmarks, currently for Firefox and IE, makes it easy to syncronize your bookmarks. If you save a couple bookmarks on Computer A, then save a couple on Computer B later, Computer A and B will both have the same bookmarks. Foxmarks works in the background, going as unnoticed as possible.
Maybe you only want to have some of your bookmarks on your work or school computer, while keeping others saved only on your home computer. With Foxmarks, you can create profiles that will only have certain bookmarks saved on them. One of the recommendations of the profiles system is keeping a shortlist of bookmarks for your phone/PDA, and there are plenty of other uses, too.
What if you can’t install Firefox at work? Foxmarks saves the day again, because you can view all of your bookmarks on their website.
Are you ready to download Foxmarks yet? Here are some download links:

Web developers know that finding exact measurements of anything that isn’t an image can be a pain. MeasureIt attempts to make life easier by putting a button in the bottom-left corner of Firefox’s window. Clicking on the button will put a semi-transparent white layer over the webpage (I don’t know why honestly), and lets you click and drag a portion of the screen to see its exact measurements. The addon isn’t perfect though, as you can’t select particular elements of a page like Colorzilla (an excellent color picker for Firefox) does.
All-in-all, MeasureIt gets the job done quick and pretty easily, so head over the the MeasureIt download page. At the time of this writing it works for any edition of Firefox from 1.0 to 3.0.

Hey everyone, I just thought I would write up a quick post about a little Oblivion mod that I made called Vampirism Obliviated. Here is the description that is in the readme:
Vampirism Obliviated in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion erases all of the vampire spells and effects within Oblivion that act upon your character, and works whether or not you are currently a Vampire. Specifically, this mod erases the spells that make you into a vampire, such as vampirism25-100, the attack and defense bonuses, and sunlight damage, so that you can still become a vampire again if you disable this mod.
Not that I should get much of a say about its awesomeness, but I do since I made it. Here’s the story about why I decided to make this in the first place. Grab a coke and some Cheeto’s, this is a classic…
…One day I was minding my own business pulling off the biggest theft in history by stealing an Elder Scroll from the Imperial Palace and thus become the Master (Gray Fox for Oblivion players) of the Thieves Guild. This had been going smoothly thus far: I had the already taken the Scroll from the blind monks in the library after sneaking in through the sewers at like 4 in the morning, and now was whooping and hollering on my way back through the sewers, ready to claim the title of Gray Fox. Low and behold, there are a few vampires hiding out in the sewers that had definitely not been there the first time. I kill them with ease, still on my adrenaline rush, and don’t notice the text in the upper-left hand part of my screen saying I had contracted the vampire virus known as “porphyric hemophilia.” A couple days later, a little note pops up on screen after I had finished with a little catnap saying I was now a vampire. Well, I don’t care so much about feeding on people after hours just to be normal, so I tried to take a Vampirism Cure Potion, but lo and behold, I’m still a freaking vampire! I then scower the known (and unknown probably) internets in order to find another solution. There is but one more I can find, which is by removing the vampire spells via the console. I try this, and guess what, it doesn’t work either. It was here that I began the quest to rid Tamriel (the ingame world) of this foul and unsightly life alteration. All the spells that effect you, such as sun damage and night vision, have been removed on only the players’ character, and the other NPC freaks can still use it. I have been playing in the world without vampirism now for weeks, and I’m happier, and I hope that you are touched by my inspiring classic. I’ll likely be selling it in stores soon.
Oh yeah, here’s a download button to the royal Download.com website:
